Greens/EFA 'study days'
The Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament is to hold its annual 'study days' from 15-18 October in the Czech capital Prague. Commenting on the study days, Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Co-president of the Greens/EFA group, said:
"This year the Greens have chosen Prague as the venue for their study days to debate with and give support to our Czech Green friends following their electoral breakthrough and entry into government. The success of the Czech Greens gives hope to other Green parties in Central and Eastern Europe."
The programme includes debates on: the Greens' electorate and their prospects in the forthcoming European elections; defining Green priorities at EU-level over the coming years; what contribution agro fuels have to make in the fight against climate change; and a discussion with the Czech Greens on the thorny question of the deployment of US missiles in the Czech Republic.
